SolarWorld Disappointed – US Government Decided to Impose Tariffs for Chinese Solar Manufacturers
Mar 21st, 2012 | By Martina Seefeld | Category: Articles, Featured Posts, Political ImpactThe U.S. Department of Commerce concluded yesterday that the Chinese government is improperly subsidizing solar manufacturers, so the United States will impose countervailing duties ranging from 2.9 percent to 4.73 percent on Chinese-made solar panels and cells.
The tariffs are small enough that they may not really change the balance of power in the solar industry. But the investigation is ongoing and U.S. manufacturers hope for larger duties resulting from a separate anti-dumping investigation.
